dc.description.abstractThis work investigates the properties of Aluminium Metal Matrix Composites (Al. MMC) reinforced with Zirconium Oxide and Graphite. The composite material has been prepared by Stir casting technique. Zirconium Oxide and Graphite both have been mixed in different proportions in the Aluminium Matrix. Various tests like: Tensile test, Rockwell hardness test, Impact test and Wear and friction test have been performed to check the properties of Al. Metal Matrix. Samples were prepared and tested as per ASTM standards. Both reinforcement constituents were added in different combinations, so as to investigate the effect of each of these two and their individual effects. SEM was later performed to check the distribution of the ZrO2 and Graphite in Al. Metal matrix composites.en
