Nanoparticles of ferrihydrite are prepared by a sol gel method. The sample is characterized by x-ray diffractometer, transmission electron microscope and vibrating sample magnetometer. The average crystallite size is found to be about 6 nm. The prepared nanoparticles of ferihydrite are found to be antiferromagnetic at room temperature.en
