Filtering Proxy Server for World Wide Web

Abstract

With the proliferation of Internet, various problems like bandwidth bottleneck, shortage of IP addresses, unauthorized access, unsupervised access etc. have crept in. This work aims at development of a Filtering Proxy Server to address above mentioned problems. It involves the study of various features like killing GIF/JPEG images, removal of Cookie headers etc. In addition to that, various security aspects associated with HTTP specifications like changing User-Agent header to any Web browser, removal of From and Referer header fields have also been addressed.
