Interpolation of Missing Points and Smoothing of Character for Online Handwriting Recognition of Gurumukhi Script

Abstract

Handwriting has continued to persist as a means of communication and recording information in day-to-day life even with the introduction of new technologies. The main goal of the work presented in this thesis has been the improvement of an online handwriting recognition system for Gurmukhi script. In this thesis two methods are presented and compared for interpolation of missing points. And later smoothing has also been done using data points interpolated by the two methods.
