Abstract
This dissertation studies the point-open topology on C(X), the set of
all continuous real-valued functions defined on a Tychonoff space X. The
study includes important properties such as metrizability and submetrizability,
various kinds of countability properties and completeness properties of
C(X) equipped with the point-open topology.
