The thesis entitled SYMMETRIES AND EXACT SOLUTIONS OF EINSTEIN- VACUUM FIELD EQUATIONS AND EINSTEIN-MAXWELL EQUATIONS comprises eight chapters. This thesis is a condensed review of the exact solutions of Einstein eld equations and ensuing phenomena. General relativity is a theory of Einstein eld equations. Einstein eld equations are systems of highly nonlinear partial di erential equations. To study general relativity, It is crucial that we analyze partial di erential equations in a systematic manner. The solutions to these equations may be found using either numerical or analytical methods.en
