dc.description.abstractWelding which is widely used in joining same or different kind of materials each others. Different kind of welding techniques are used now days to join materials. Tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding is one of them which are known for its good appearance and quality. Main problem in this kind of welding is its depth of penetration which is very low. So, researchers developed a new technique which can improve its drawback for depth of penetration. Study of fusion profile development during activated tungsten inert gas welding (ATIG) is important for increasing depth of penetration of weld. In this work, both TIG and ATIG for SS304 steel by varying main factors in welding like current, time of weld and shielding gas were studied and compared. At higher current, the depth of penetration is also high for ATIG. The depth of penetration for TIG welding increases twice by using mixture of argon and hydrogen as hydrogen plays a significant role to increase in depth of penetration for TIG welding. TiO2 shows best aspect ratio for all value of current and time. Values of aspect ratio are consistent for TiO2 when current is varying at constant time.en_US
