Abstract
The aim of this research is to study the emotional regulation of narcissistic individual (males and
females). Narcissists are described by a profoundly constructive or swelled self-idea additionally,
utilize a scope of intrapersonal and relational techniques for keeping up constructive self-views.
Emotional regulation is an extraneous and inherent procedures in charge of observing, assessing,
and adjusting emotional reactions.200 participants (103males and 97 females) aged 18-22 years
(M=21.83, SD=2.50) completed the narcissistic personality inventory (NPI-40), and emotional
regulation questionnaire. The results of the t statistics indicate that men are more narcissistic as
compared to women. Results of the linear regression analysis provide evidence to prove that
narcissistic females use more of expressive suppression facet of emotional regulation as
compared to the narcissistic males. In addition to this, it has been found that the narcissistic
males make use of cognitive reappraisal facet of emotional regulation more than female
narcissists. The findings are explained in terms of the social acceptance of behavior related to
narcissism in males and females
