| dc.description.abstract | In this work we have employed curve fitting technique for identification of dc motor parameters and control. A dc motor is modeled using armature control method. The block diagram generated from the dynamic equation is used for obtaining the transfer functions. Here we have used transfer function approach for finding the parameters of separately excited dc motor viz. armature resistance, armature inductance, back emf constant, moment of inertia, viscous friction. The mechanical parameters are obtained using curve fitting technique. Thereafter we have controlled the dc motor using PI controller for improvement in its response. There are different classical tuning methods to control the parameters of controller but here we have applied Zeigler Nichols method for tuning the open loop parameters. | en |
