Abstract
Coins have been the integral part of our day to day life. So, it is a basic need that coins can be recognized, counted and sorted automatically. We have developed an ANN based Automated Coin Recognition System for Indian coins of denomination Rs. 1, 2, 5 and 10 using MATLAB. We have achieved accuracy of 97.74% in recognition.
