In the thesis, different ectomycorrhizal fungi were screened for their growth, phosphatase activity, mineral nutrition uptake and metal accumulation in their mycelia were studied at different concentrations of aluminium in pure culture. The ectomycorrhizal fungi were also grown with their respective host plants in vitro and their effect on host growth parameters and their mycrrhization ability was studied isolate was then inoculated in the bauxite mined out soil and the nursery plantlets werer transferred to check the survival of plants in the above mentioned soil.en
