dc.description.abstractThis report intends to elicit information in relation to a research-based project carried out at National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi. As the work has been pursued in two broadly different areas so the report has been divided into two parts, Part-A on the Magnetic Materials and, Ferrites materials and their application in ferrofluid and Part-B on the Synthesis and Characterization of Manganese zinc Ferrite . The report begins with a brief section on the NPL - its history, objectives, research aras, technologies it has developed over the years, etc. Thereafter, a detailed description of the Magnetic Materials, Ferrites and spinel ferrite has been included in Part-A, covering its structure, principle of operation, and its areas of applications so as to make a smooth transition to higher concepts later on. Henceforth, the details of the theoretical and experimental work have been incorporated. In Part-B, the details of the work on synthesis and characterization of manganese zinc Ferrite by co-precipitation route has been included. After furnishing details of the experimental procedure and obtained results, a brief account of the instruments has been provided to make this project more helpful for the readers. I am confident that this report will be of immense value and will do some value addition to the knowledge of its readers.en
