Abstract
In this thesis, we investigate the Optical Frequency Comb (OFC) based on Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) with higher order non-linearity. Particularly, we consider Graphene Saturable Absorber (GSA). This theoretical investigation has been done by solving complex Ginzburg-Landau equation that represents the photon dynamics in the driven cavity. Split Step Fourier (SSF) method based code has been developed and that numerical approach is used for the solution as well as generation of OFC. The role of different system parameters namely pump parameters, detuning parameter, line width enhancement factors has been checked. A wide range of optical frequency comb has been generated for different ranges of system parameters. Also the parametric region of OFC has been identified. The line width enhancement factor for active material has the widest range to generate OFC, while the pump parameter shows the least. The detuning parameter shows a moderate range for OFC generation. The results may lead to the experimental realization of OFC in VCSEL.
