| dc.description.abstract | Chlorpyrifos, a broad spectrum phophorthiate ester, is a widely used pesticide and also an environmental contaminant. The doctoral work was focused to examine the diversity of soil bacteria capable of chlorpyrifos degradation and the potential fo the selected isolates, that degrade chlorpyrifos, towards in-situ bioremediation of the contaminated microcosms. The isolates from the developed consortium showed 75-87% degradation when compared to control. | en |
