dc.description.abstractThe personality processes at the time of adolescence are integrated and attributes that contribute developing personality disorders can be recognized. During this phase the reaction to emotions are increased and the maturity is not enough to engage in self-regulatory behaviors. So, this is a time of considerably high vulnerability and negative outcomes of the risk-taking .The present study investigates the effect of birth order, parenting style, and impulsivity and narcissim on risk perception and risk taking behaviour in adoloscents. For this purpose we collected a sample of 100 students, 50 boys and 50 girls from different schools of Jammu and Patiala city of the age range of 13 to 16 years. Children were given questionnaires on risk perception, risk taking behavior, impulsivity and narcissism. Also the parents were asked to fill self-assessment questionnaires on parenting styles. For result analysis, descriptive statistics, regression and correlation were used. The results obtained in the study showed significant relationship between the variables.en_US
