Bacterial pathogens are the cause of deadly infectious diseases that are spreading across the world and cause a serious threat to human health. The antibiotic therapy is efficient and widely used treatment against infectious bacteria. The excessive use and abuse of antibiotic drugs causes the evolved drug resistance by pathogens and low bioactivity of drug against bacterial diseases. In light of the prevailing conditions, we designed and synthesized a new hybrid series containing naphthalimide, benzimidazole and triazine skeletons. The synthesized hybrids are derivatized by different secondary amine substitutions in good yields. The synthesized compounds were characterized by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and HRMS spectrometry techniques. The synthesized compounds were screened for antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial strains. The compound 8c showed excellent antibacterial activity against all the bacterial strains tested with MICs ranging from 1.56 to 3.125 μg/ml. Comprehensively, these results highlight the potential of naphthalimide, triazine, benzimidazole hybrids as promising antibacterial agents.en_US
