dc.description.abstractInternet is mainly used for sharing resources and data across the globe. It is now increasingly iused for business and commerce applications. Against this backdrop, online-shopping, application has been undertaken as a project work. Web design and e-commerce subtleties are enumerated and are followed by pictorial conceptualization of the application. The context diagram, user intgerface and flow control as how proceed for implementation. Later, software approaches for client side and server side programming are discussed. It being net application, HTML is used for the presentation of data to the user and VB Script for client side validations of user response. Server side programming is implemented in Active Server Pages. Microsoft SQL server is used for storing database. the ASP embedded stored procedures takes care of data manipulation. The project is implemented according to 3-rtier paradigm namely the client, the intermediate server (middle tier) and the web server.en
