As Titanium Dioxide nano-particles can be used for various types of industrial applications. Also the behavior of titanium dioxide nanoparticles will be different at the nano-scale as surface to volume ratio is very high at this scale. For any type of photocatalytic application, surface to volume ratio is very important parameter. So, it is desirable to study the photocatalytic applications of titanium dioxide nano-particles in detail so that we can use them in industry. In this thesis we have tried to correlate the optical parameters & morphological parameters with the photocatalytic behaviour of TiO2 nano-particles. The optical parameters studied are Photoluminiscence and UV visible absorption. The morphological parameters studied are XRD & TEM. The photocatalytic degradation behavior is studied using Reactive Black-5 dye with TiO2 nano-particles as the nano photocatalyst.en
