Abstract
Dynamical cluster decay model (DCM) has been applied to study the dynamics of 44Ca
induced reactions. The DCM based neutron based 44Ca-induced reactions on trans-lanthanide
targets agree nicely with experimental data. The following reactions are studied and worked
upon over a wide range of incident energies. 44Ca+158Gd →202Po*
→ 199Po+3n
44Ca+159Tb → 203At* → 200At+3n
44Ca+162Dy →206Rn* → 203Rn+3n
This dissertation comprises of three chapters.
Chapter-1 consists of the basic over-view of nuclear reactions, compound nucleus formation,
neutron evaporation and deformations and orientations.
Chapter-2 consists of the description of dynamical cluster decay model (DCM). It gives
description about the various potentials used in DCM, mass-dependent level density
parameter along with other parameters of the model. The deformation effects of decaying
fragments are included in the framework of DCM.
Chapter-3 consists of the details of the DCM based calculations for the above mentioned
reactions and the fragmentation behaviour of the chosen reactions is analysed in view of preformation
factor and barrier penetrability
