dc.description.abstractVehicular Adhoc Networks (VANETs) are being used in wide range of applications especially safety related applications from last few decades. To route a packet to its final destination is one of most difficult tasks to be performed in this environment. To address this issue in this thesis, we have designed a novel fuzzy set based routing technique in VANETs. We have designed new algorithms for packet transmission to increase the overall reliability of transmission. Membership functions are also designed for fuzzification and defuzzification processes using various metrics. The performance of proposed scheme is evaluated using various metrics where the performance of the proposed scheme is found to be better than the other existing schemes.en
