Abstract
The economic dispatch problem is one of the important issues in power system. The
objective of the combined heat and power economic dispatch is to find the optimal point of power and heat generation with minimum fuel cost while satisfying both heat and power demands and other constraints.
In this dissertation work, differential evolution search technique is implemented to solve the combined heat and power economic dispatch problem with bounded feasible operating region. In this work, the feasible region constraint is handled using exterior penalty factor.
The optimal utilization of multiple combined heat and power systems is a complex problem.
In order to show the effectiveness of this technique, the proposed approach is applied to three test systems.
