The water quality is determined with in 10 km radius area of the Village Suidihi P.O - Lathikata, District - Sundergarh, Odisha. Water samples of ground and surface water from different village were collected to determine the Physico- chemical and Biological status of water to calculate the water quality index. The overall water quality of the study area is fit for the drinking purposes except for the Brahamani river and Rourkela City, here physico-chemical parameters of both ground water and surface water are found to be much higher than the permissible limiting value.
