Abstract: The fixed charge transportation problem (FCTP) is an extension of the classical transportation problem in which a fixed cost is incurred, independent of the amount transported along with a variable cost that is proportional to the amount shipped. The introduction of fixed costs in addition to variable costs results in the objective function being a step function. The fixed charge multi-objective transportation (FMOT) has been studied in the present work. In the FMOT a fixed cost called setup cost is incurred for every origin and the cost of transportation is directly proportional to the number of units transported, but on account of quantity discounts, price break etc. The present thesis contains three Chapters. The Chapter 1 is introductory in nature. In Chapter 2, the algorithm proposed by Basu et al (1994) is modified in conjunction with the approach given by Gupta and Gupta (1982) for FMOT problem. In Chapter 3 FMOT problem is extended by including one more non-linear objective which is conflicting in nature and non dominated solutions are obtained for the same.
