Abstract: | In this thesis we attempt to study QoS management Techniques. The most common QoS provisioning strategy is to prioritize the different classes of traffic and make sure that high priority traffic gets preferential access to the channel. In this thesis thorough study of MAC protocol has been done and an improvement has been proposed in which the Contention Window and AIFS calculation function is varied in the non uniform manner for different ACs with an aim to improve the performance parameters. To demonstrate the effect of the modified CW and AIFS variation scheme simulation have been carried out using Qualnet Simulator designed by Scalar Network Technologies, Inc. After implementing the proposed modification a performance comparison has been carried out for parameters such as End to End Delay, Average Jitter and Average Throughput. |
