Abstract: Zirconium Phosphoborate was prepared by the reported method and was converted into granular form by combining the material with polymers like Nylon-66 and EPDM in ratios of 7:3 and 7:1. The resulting material was characterised by SEM, XRD and ion exchange properties. Many other methods like use of spray drier was also tried to get the granular form which was not successful but granules may be achieved by this method by using concurrent nozzle in the spray drier for importing the slurry. From the different methods used for preparing the ZrPB it was clear that equilibration with HCl does not affect the ion exchange capacity of ZrPB and the ratios used for the granulation confirmed that the granulation with Nylon-66 as binder is better with ratio 7:1 than 7:3 and it improves the properties of ion exchanger.
